Young Academics Early Learning Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or Waiver.

The Role :

The objective of this role is to contribute to the care and education of children as a senior member of the teaching team, establish and support the development of appropriate programs for both individual and groups of children in conjunction with The Early Years Learning Framework, maintain a safe and healthy environment and contribute to the overall Operation of the Centre.

 

Key Responsibilities; not limited to:

  • Establishing an active teaching role enabling children to develop their full potential
  • Be innovative and motivated to lead a centre to become the centre of choice for families within the local community.
  • Developing an inclusive educational program based on the latest research.
  • Evaluating and keeping appropriate records.
  • Have a strong, confident and motivated personality with an ambition to provide education and care standards of excellence.
  • Commitment to the ECA Code of Ethics.
  • Supervising and supporting educators with programming and daily duties.
  • Liaising and consulting with parents whilst maintaining confidentiality.
  • Comply with and maintain updated centres policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety & well being of all stakeholders (children, educators and families)
  • Support, guide and promote positive behaviours.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and self development.

You, the successful candidate:

  • Must hold a Completed Early Childhood Teacher Qualification/Degree (as assessed and recognised by ACECQA); OR
  • Must be working towards Degree
  • An accredited Teacher in NSW (BOSTES)
  • Must hold Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma Management and Child Protection qualifications or be willing to obtain one.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years (or equivalent) demonstrated experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Must have experience supporting and training colleagues.
  • Must have a high-level thorough understanding and knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) including National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Must have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Must be confident in and take on responsibility of planning an educational curriculum.
  • Must have highly developed communication skills in order to effectively liaise with both staff and parents.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable
  • Must have competent computer skills.
