About the Roles:

An exciting opportunity exists for motivated and enthusiastic industry experts with a passion for sharing their knowledge, skills and experience to join our Community Services teaching team in the delivery of the Diploma of Community Services. Successful applicants will have online delivery experience, along with excellent organisational and administrative skills.   

The Role of a Teacher is to:

The role of the Teacher at Federation Training involves a broad range of activities which directly and indirectly support learning through the delivery of educational programs and includes:

  • Managing the learning process to enable students to achieve their best;
  • Planning, preparing and delivering high quality training and assessment;
  • Maintaining their own vocational currency to ensure they are delivering the most up to date practices;
  • Liaising with local industry, other educational providers and the community to ensure that education and training is relevant and responsive to needs;
  • Ensuring student records are accurate and maintained according to policies and procedures;
  • Adhering to quality and compliance principles and practices in relation to teaching and assessment activities;
  • Contributing to decision making that affects the learning environment;
  • Applying innovative delivery practices contextualised to the clients’ needs;
  • Providing appropriate variety and flexibility in educational practice;
  • Contributing to the growth and development of Federation Training;
  • Providing advice and information regarding Federation Training’s courses;
  • Participating cooperatively in the development and implementation of agreed quality improvement processes by reflecting on experience, their own performance and an evaluation of processes and program outcomes.

To be Successful in this Position you will need:

  • A Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40110) (mandatory). A teaching qualification at Diploma level or above would be treated favourably;
  • Vocational competence / qualification (at minimum) to the level being taught/assessed;
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, research, schedule and meet agreed deadlines;
  • High level knowledge of Training Packages and the ability to interpret and deliver on requirements;
  • Knowledge of the compliance and quality requirements of the National VET Quality Framework overseen by ASQA, and the ability to comply with such;
  • Ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse learner population and the competency standards required;
  • High level IT skills and competence in the use of Microsoft Office products, with an ability to learn and utilise other programs as required in the job role;
  • Appreciation of occupational health and safety, industrial relations and merit and equity principles and quality assurance.

A six month probationary period applies to this position.

Successful applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and will be required to satisfy a National Police Record Check and a Victorian Working with Children Check.
