Description

This is a rare and rewarding opportunity that will allow you to contribute significantly to the engineering profession now and well into the future as you will be involved in establishing and upholding the quality standards used to shape the minds of students as they learn, grow and develop into tomorrow's engineering professionals.

Working both nationally and internationally, you will lead and manage Engineers Australia's accreditation function in a collaborative manner, ensuring the maintenance of rigorous accreditation outcomes which are consistent with local and international standards.

More specifically, you will lead the delivery of accreditation functions including:

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager - Accreditation to deliver the operational functions of accreditation including:
    • Educational institution liaison and support;
    • Logistics for accreditation visits to domestic and overseas campuses;
    • Accreditation reporting;
    • Correspondence, records and information management;
    • Secondary consultative services to universities;
    • Management of the budget and financial operations of the Accreditation Centre;
  • Working closely with a range of internal stakeholders in helping EA to engage with key external stakeholders to identify the changing needs of the profession and the impacts on the future role of engineering professionals and their educational needs.
  • Managing key relationships with a range of external agencies such as accreditation bodies.
  • Facilitating improvement and innovation, and lead change within the Accreditation Centre.
  • Representing Engineers Australia at national and international forums as required.

The successful candidate will also work closely with other key internal stakeholders to engage with the tertiary sector, industry and government to advance the engineering profession.

Profile

We are seeking a committed, collaborative and driven professional with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential; PhD level or above is preferred.
  • Solid and recent experience as an academic discipline leader is desirable - preferably as a Program Leader, Head of School.
  • A high level of credibility in the academic community is essential.
  • Experience in tertiary program accreditation and/or contributions to the development and delivery of engineering education highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic thinking and track record in driving change in support of corporate strategy.
  • A track record in customer service and demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships at senior level in national and international operating environments.
