Your Opportunity
Mission Australia oversees Family Day Care services in Tasmania. We are seeking an Educator Support Officer, (ESO) to support and monitor the health, safety and the learning environments of Family Day Cares within North & North West Tasmania.
The role of an Educator Support Officer includes visiting Family Day Care Educators, to support them in the provision of high quality care and education. You will advise of best practice on care environment visits, at play sessions and in all aspect of supporting educators.
You will be required to work on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. A company car will be provided during business hours for travel across the region. This is a busy and varied role, perfect for an individual looking to make their next career move in Children’s Services.
Duties
- Conduct regular home visits to registered Educators
- Consult, support and guide Educators in the areas of best practice, education and compliance
- Assist through support visits with induction of new Educators
- Participate in service reviews to ensure that it meets compliance requirements
- Assist with the provision of programs, resources and initiatives and professional development
Requirements
- Early Childhood Qualifications – Diploma in Children’s Service or above
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standard, Act and regulations within the Child Care sector.
- Knowledge of Early Years Framework (EYLF) and My Time our Place.
- Strong interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills
- Effective report writing skills
- Current Driver’s License and Full First Aid Certificate
As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National criminal history check. In addition, there is a requirement to possess a current Working with Children check or apply if you do not already hold one.
