 As a senior academic in the Faculty produce research of the highest quality, be a committed contributor to teaching and learning programs, and have strong networks that can be of benefit to the Faculty.  You will undertake leadership and mentoring in the Faculty and across the university, and be able to develop and lead research groups. 

Responsibilities include:
• Undertake research, publish in quality peer-reviewed journals, apply for and obtain externally-funded competitive research grants.  
• Maintain a national and/or international profile as a leading researcher.
• Provide research leadership to Faculty staff, assist colleagues to enhance research skills and increase research output and quality.
• Teach in undergraduate and postgraduate programs as required.  All academics are expected to be available for teaching in core subjects.  The Faculty has particular needs in Foundations of Law, Ethics Law and Justice, Remedies, Corporate Law and  Real Property, and would also welcome applicants able to offer Contracts, Evidence, Commercial, Administrative Law, or Civil Practice. 
• Supervise Honours, Masters and Doctoral level research students.
• Assist in formulation and implementation of Faculty research plans, strategies and objectives.
• Actively participate in Faculty governance, administration, and engagement activities, including the design and delivery of postgraduate and professional offerings.

To be successful in the role at Level D (Associate Professor) you will have:
• Doctorate in Law or related discipline or equivalent research achievement.
• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor.
• Evidence of high quality teaching and supervision with extensive experience at undergraduate, postgraduate (coursework and research) levels.
• An established research record in law including a significant number of peer-reviewed top-tier publications.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain externally-funded competitive research grants.
• Evidence of a capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with the legal profession and/or broader law-related community.
• Substantial administrative experience.
• Evidence of a capacity to work collegially for the benefit of the Faculty and colleagues.

To be successful in the role at Level E (Professor) you will also have:

• Excellence in research performance and leadership, nationally and/or internationally, as evidenced by an outstanding research record of quality refereed publications and achievement of research grants.
• Demonstrated capacity to exercise leadership, particularly research leadership.
• Strong background in legal and research methodology, policy and knowledge of research quality issues at national and international levels. 

Remuneration

Salary Range:
Level D: $149,355p.a - $159,049
Level E: $185,713

This appointment will be on a continuing full-time basis.
