The Global Development Portfolio is responsible for making RMIT genuinely global in reputation, operations and outlook. Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Development) and Vice President, the portfolio:

  • identifies, reviews and harnesses opportunities to further enhance RMIT’s global model,
  • nurtures RMIT alumni and stewards RMIT’s philanthropic activity,
  • leads and coordinates RMIT’s global education partnerships,
  • manages global experience opportunities for RMIT students, staff and alumni.

In addition, it connects and coordinates RMIT’s presences throughout the world including RMIT entities in Australia, Vietnam and Europe (Spain) and representative offices in other countries.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Advisor Global Relations delivers work to support the University's partner approvals, partner lifecycle management and priority partners. The position supports the management of delegations and works closely with colleagues across the portfolio and university to ensure timely delivery of broad operational issues as relevant to the Global Development Portfolio's priorities.

Skills & Experience Required

You will organise and coordinate inbound and outbound high-level delegations, liaising with portfolio and university colleagues to ensure appropriate programs and accurate logistical arrangements, and delegation follow-up activities as required. Important to this role will be your demonstrated capacity to provide accurate briefings and advice in support of international matters. Your excellent interpersonal, relationship management skills including significant experience in cross cultural relationship management will see you liaise with key individuals and agencies, within and outside the University internationally and locally, ensuring effective information flow and collaboration. An understanding of political, social and economic landscape in key countries in regards to their impact on tertiary education is key to success in this role.

A relevant tertiary qualification, and/or extensive experience in a related area.

Proficiency in languages other than English is desirable.
