The Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute is developing into a world-class facility for mental health and neurological research, teaching and associated clinical services. The Institute will enable USC to make a major contribution to the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain and mind and be at the forefront of vital research in the areas of ageing and dementia and mental health issues relating to youth and adults alike.
The Opportunity
A Senior Research Fellow plays a major role in research by leading research projects and supervising candidates for higher degrees by research. This role requires a significant contribution to research outcomes through publications and conference presentations.
The Senior Research Fellow, Biostatistics will take a lead role in the design and analysis of neurobiological studies and clinical trials, as well as advising the Director and SCMN-TI research team on novel biostatistical research avenues that may be undertaken in the various programs being conducted at SCMN-TI. The position will provide biostatistical consulting to clinical and basic science researchers, and participate in associated activities such as lectures, research supervision and mentoring. Specific experience working with large multi-modal (for example, cognition, MRI) longitudinal data sets is desirable.
As the successful candidate, you are an established researcher with over five years of research experience since the award of your PhD or equivalent research doctorate. You have an excellent research track record with a proven capacity for research leadership.
