HEAD OF YEAR
Status: Full-time ongoing
Commencing: Term 1, 2019
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed educators to fulfill the important role of Head of Year.
The Head of Year will promote activities which guide students in the development of personal growth and fundamental enduring values centred in Christ. The role involves assisting students to develop a sense of self-worth and providing opportunities for them to become responsible citizens in the community. The preferred applicant therefore needs the proven ability to work collaboratively with others and have the depth of knowledge required to create pastoral care programmes that meet the needs of the students.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and have the capacity to motivate, enthuse and professionally develop others. They will become an integral member of the College’s Middle Management team and therefore require the capacity to strongly contribute to specific year level and College wide pastoral care initiatives. In support of the College leadership team, the preferred candidate will have an important role in the ongoing strategic development of the College.
Applicants must be willing to promote the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education and support the College’s Mission and Vision. They also would be required to ensure that Christian values are reflected across the year level activities.
Kolbe Catholic College promotes a modern learning environment with a strong focus on the development of innovative, engaging and authentic teaching strategies. The applicant successful to this position therefore should be prepared to promote pedagogy and practices that integrates the use of technology as a means of achieving desired goals for the year level.
The preferred applicant should have a minimum four year tertiary qualification and have, or be working towards, Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School.
