An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated candidate to undertake the role of PLC Regional Manager in the Central Highlands area of the South Western Victoia Region of the Department of Education and Training (DET). This position will play a leading role in the coherent and consistent implementation of the PLC initiative, which is part of the Education State reform agenda.

The Victorian Government has made a commitment to make Victoria the Education State. The Education State will see the development of a cohesive learning and development system that provides the very best educational opportunities at every stage (from early childhood right through to adult learning). It will also ensure that all Victorians have the skills, knowledge and attributes to shape their future in a changing world regardless of their location, background and circumstance. 

The PLC Unit was established in January 2017 with two Managers in central office and eight PLC Regional Managers, one in each region. This Unit works collaboratively to manage and monitor the implementation of the PLC initiative including working with regions, recruiting schools, delivering professional learning and providing expertise in PLC implementation at a school and cluster level.

The PLC Regional Managers support the Education State reform agenda by contributing to core work associated with the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO) Excellence in Teaching and learning initiatives with a focus on PLCs. The new PLC Managers will be part of a regional PLC team and will report to the Executive Director, School Improvement.
