Wingate Avenue Children’s Co-Operative is a 62 place, not-for profit community based long day care service located in Ascot Vale, Victoria.

We have strong connections to our local community and value the diverse cultures within our centre.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Diploma Qualified educator to join our team, running our 8 place Nursery room.

You will be responsible for implementing a high quality program, which caters to the individual needs and routines of children aged 6 to 18 months.

Wingate Avenue Children’s Co-Operative prides itself on its relationships with families and strong communication skills are a must, along with experience within this age group.

Your role as the room leader will ensure:

• Children’s individual routines are met on a daily basis
• An age appropriate program is implemented which encourages children to build strong connections with their environment, peers and educators
• Lead and mentor educators to contribute to a high quality curriculum
• Contribute to ongoing professional development
• Provide respectful and informative communication with families
• Comply with centre policies and procedures, including regular reviews                                                           

Requirements:

• Diploma in Children’s Services
• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR qualifications
• 2-3 years experience with children aged 0-2 years
• Excellent knowledge of the EYLF
• Excellent knowledge of developmental milestones of children ages 0-2 years
• The ability to mentor and motivate a team
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
