The Library Assistant will contribute to implementing a holistic program of change across the Planning and Community Engagement Division in collaboration with the section leadership team and in consultation with the Townsville community. This will involve leading the Community Engagement and Cultural Services Section on a transformative journey focusing on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community developing a culture of customer-centricity and personal accountability; and reshaping how we deliver services to maximise value.
The Libraries Team is responsible for the activation of planned programs and systems, to ensure resources are available for delivery to customers. This work includes preparing collection items for use by customers, preparing marketing collateral, both physical and digital, collection management activities, resource allocation, including people, materials and spaces, digitisation of collection items, maintenance and repair of IT equipment, a courier service and supporting the delivery arms – Learning and Information Services and Customer Experience.
This role will be working closely with team members from all units of the Libraries Team, as rostered, to ensure outputs are aligned within the broader Library Services Strategic Plan. This position is responsible for providing assistance in the delivery of library services and programs in accordance with the Library Services Strategic Plan to internal and external customers.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Current ‘C’ class drivers licence.
- Sound skills and focus on understanding a wide range of customer needs and offering services that enhance the customer’s experience
- Certificate level qualifications in Library and Information Services or Business Administration are highly regarded
