Our client is a leader in the Australian prepared bakery and bakery ingredients market, and is a major supplier to supermarkets, food service and bakery retailers.
They are in a growth phase and we are currently recruiting on their behalf for experienced and passionate food industry Production Operators, based their Altona North production facility.
Day and Afternoon shifts are available, Please let us know your availability when you submit your application.
Reporting to Baking Frontline Leaders, responsibilities are varied and will include;
- Mixing and baking a high volume range of quality products, including mud cake, banana bread, donuts and profiteroles
- Baking a range of delicious products, including rainbow cake, triple chocolate loaf, and other amazing and delicious cakes
- Trimming uneven surfaces of cake and spreading icing between layers and or surfaces of cake
- Operating depositing equipment on the line (includes set up and maintaining temperature and weight of product)
- Packing finished product
- Completing paperwork for Quality Department
- Maintaining a safe and clean workplace
Skills and experience
To be successful in these roles you must enjoy working in a fast paced environment, and have the following skills:
- Previous experience working in an industrial food production environment, ideally using commercial ovens or on an automated baking line
- Ovens experience preferred
- A bakery background is advantageous, or perhaps you have completed a Certificate III in Food Processing
- Good understanding of GMP and Food Safety
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable doing accurate paperwork
- Reliable and committed
- Strong comprehension and communication skills
- High attention to detail with sound numeracy and literacy skills
