Our Queensland Kmart Supply Chain services over 60 locations in a large geographic space, working with many partners to deliver our quality merchandise to stores, in full and on time, each and every time.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced DC Operations Manager at our distribution centre in Lytton, reporting to the DC Manager and having a large team of Team Managers to support the wide span of hours.

The DC Operations Manager’s key objective is to be strategically focused on planning of resources to meet productivity goals, and will have full responsibility for the day to day operation of the site to ensure safety, service and financial performance targets are met.

Pivotal responsibilities in this role include the implementation of the Kmart business strategy including driving productivity, executing safety initiatives and compliance, audit compliance, driving achievement of DC KPI’s and managing transport operations

As the ideal candidate you will require:

• Logistics management experience at senior or middle level management with proven interpersonal skills, ability to coach, counsel and discipline Team Members
• Demonstrated experience in managing large teams to deliver safety, financial and service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Demonstrated leadership, relationship building, communication and teamwork skills, together with strong values and leadership behaviours
• Ability to build a strong team ethos that facilitates continuous improvement and the creation of a high performing culture
• A focus on driving performance management & career development in accordance with values and behaviour
• Readiness to make time-responsive decisions and to support decision making within the business unit, with a capacity to be an effective and positive change agent, driving continuous improvement and championing innovation
• Sound understanding of distribution operations for the retail market and an understanding of the Lean Manufacturing concepts is desirable, together with an understanding of Supply Chain & transport management commercial concepts
• Related tertiary qualification in logistics is desirable
• Project management skills
• Understanding of EBA concepts
• Understanding of warehouse management systems
