The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join the team, based in Melbourne's western suburbs.  Leading a small team you will be responsible for all things Quality Assurance and food safety.  Your immediate manager is very approachable and has some great plans for the growth of the business.  The culture of the organisation is very interactive with open communication channels and an inspiring and high achieving management team to report to and provide you with guidance.
 
Your role will be to coordinate QA/QC officers and ensure all quality and integrity of the products on the production line.  This involves the following tasks:

• Ensure compliance of the Quality Management Systems to the highest standard
• Assist with procurement
• Manage all aspects of the HACCP program
• Shelf-life testing
• Lead internal and external audits
• Manage external certifications
• Pest control
• Staff training in hygiene and GMP
• Oversee daily production quality control and document compliance
• Ensuring that high quality standards are maintained at all times
• Report to senior management as necessary

Key Skills / Requirements
In order to be considered for this opportunity you must meet the following criteria:

• Qualifications in Food Technology / Food science or a related discipline
• Strong experience in a management or team leader QA role
• Pet Food (ideally), Meat or other high risk experience is highly regarded
• High levels of attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Proven mentoring and coaching ability
