We are currently seeking a Fleet and Equipment Manager to be responsible for the maintenance of our fleet, ensure maximum vehicle availability and to provide high levels of service to all depot departments.
In this role you will:
Ensure all vehicles are maintained and comply with Roadworthiness, OH&S and Environment standards
Maintain maximum availability of the fleet, including forklifts, through scheduled servicing and planned preventative maintenance
Ensure all vehicles are maintained to the required maintenance and appearance standards
Manage Fleet Maintenance vehicle defect reporting, assess and action all reports and arrange with contractors for vehicles to be repaired
Fleet Maintenance Costs – achieve budget / target levels in relation to fleet maintenance costs
Co-ordinate breakdown repairs
Manage service providers and contractors
Manage the Fleet mechanic
Supervise all Fleet Maintenance contractors working onsite, including the compliance with OH&S, Environmental and Depot standards
Review invoices for accuracy, value for money and confirm work as invoiced has been carried out to vehicle
Assist in the development of Service Level Agreements with maintenance suppliers
Continuously review maintenance and maintenance control procedures and make recommendations for improvement
Monitor Depot vehicle maintenance costs, review P&L vs budget, vendor spend, investigate and control high cost areas
Investigate and report on maintenance cost exceptions
To be considered for this role you must have:
• Motor mechanic qualifications or trade qualifications in a related field
• Management or Supervisory skills and experience in Fleet Maintenance and Management
• Experience in the repair or supervisory areas of the heavy vehicle industry
• Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel
• Experience in analysis and problem solving
• The ability to communicate with impact
• Critical thinking and decision making
• Clear and honest two-way communication through an open management style
• Heavy vehicle Drivers license (desirable)
