Tasmanian Bakeries, home of the iconic National Pie, is a third generation Tasmanian family owned business established in 1942 by local butcher Alfred Gough.

From humble beginnings selling hand made pies during show intermissions at Hobart’s National Theatre, Tasmanian Bakeries (the parent company of National Pies) is today seen as one of Australia’s premier food producers and is a true Tasmanian icon.

We are proud of how far our company has come in the last 76 years, now we are looking to expand our business and have the opportunity for eager candidates to join our Tasmanian Bakeries family.

Due to a major territorial expansion in interstate product distribution and sales, Tasmanian Bakeries is about to enter a sizeable period of business growth. To support this, we need to grow the size of our team across a vast variety of positions.

Now is the time to register your expression of interest for upcoming roles that will become available at Tasmanian Bakeries. 

Upon your successful progression through our initial screening, you will be added to our future candidate pool.  We will then align your skills and qualification to the various future roles we have identified that will arise within the near future.  

Roles could include full time or casual employment in areas such as production, pick & pack, transport & logistics, sales and even specialised business roles within our support office.

Virtually all of our roles (current and future) involve a lot of physical activity, as such our roles ideally suit people who are and who like to remain fit and healthy.  Attitude and supporting our strong company culture is everything to us so naturally the ability to get along with almost any person and a very happy and easy going personality is a must to be considered for any role with Tasmanian Bakeries.

• Possess good written and verbal communication skills

• Be physically fit and able to lift, bend and move repetitively
• Have no issues with standing for extended periods
• Provide their availability for each day of the week over a 24 hour period
• Be looking to obtain a role for the long term
• Be able to show that you are honest, punctual, reliable, and efficient
