Together we are stronger. As a leading international agribusiness, we operate a range of interlinked businesses: Corporate, Grains, Malt and Oils - providing an integrated service across the food and beverage supply chain.

About our team
In 2016, GrainCorp celebrated 100 years of growth. Today, we are proud to be Australia’s largest agribusiness with diversified operations that span four continents and the global food supply chain.

GrainCorp Grains connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

About the role
Based at our Capella site in Central Queensland and reporting to the Area Manager we are looking for a Site Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the site and manage a team of 3-4 permanent staff. You will also be responsible for the casual contractors over the harvest period.

The core accountabilities of the Site Manager position include:

  • Occupational health and safety: managing compliance with GrainCorp’s policies, procedures and systems and driving a ‘zero harm’ safety culture
  • People leadership and development: role modelling GrainCorp’s values; driving increased engagement and capability in team members and administering people processes
  • Business performance: managing and maximising grain volumes, accumulation and availability, stock control and on-site transport
  • Financial performance: working toward targets on outload/inload, $/tonne, road haulage rates and other variable costs; supporting site financial plan
  • Customer relations: developing and maintaining deep relationships with growers, silo committees, the local community and other stakeholders
  • Quality: oversee implementation of site fumigation, pest control and hygiene standards
  • Maintenance: identify and report on maintenance requirements, prepare reports, maintain site presentation and standards

About your experience
To be successful in this Site Manager role will have experience as a Site Supervisor OR be looking to discover your potential and step up from a team member role in agriculture, building and construction, maintenance, technical trades or similar. You are known for consistently role-modelling the behaviours expected of our site managers: collaborative, customer-focused, self-aware and self-driven.

A current unrestricted driver’s licence is essential as are basic computer skills. We’d value any additional training or skills you have in first aid or fumigation and /or additional licences and tickets (eg. forklift, H or M class licence, front-end loader, etc.) but this is not essential.

Together we realise our potential. At GrainCorp, we value and respect the different perspectives and experiences our people bring to work each day. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce - leading to a range of different thinking, perspectives and ideas that create the innovation we need to drive better business results. We aim to have a work environment where everyone feels included and everyone can realise their full potential.
