Reporting to the Safety, Security and Emergency Planning Manager, this role is responsible to formulate, implement and manage the security standards, procedures and contracted services to enable business continuity in a safe, secure and efficient manner.

The Position:

• Design, develop, implement and manage security systems to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
• Managed the contracted security screening services to ensure the optimum security outcome and customer experience;
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager to support all security related maintenance contracts;
• Be responsible for ensuring compliant security in all aspects of airport operations;
• Prepare and lead Security desktop and field exercises at the Organisation’s operational facilities;
• Understand, work within and contribute to the development of Company policies and procedures as they relate to Airport Security;
• Oversee the implementation of regulatory measures as required;
• Develop and mentor the Security Team to achieve KPI’s and individual development objectives;
• Assist with the deployment and integration of additional security equipment and infrastructure as required;
• Manage the Security Team and service provider to achieve target 100% compliance of all regulatory requirements;
• Drive a security awareness culture across the organisation;
• Actively manage and mitigate security risks by working across the all aspects of the organisation’s business.

The Person:

• Tertiary qualifications in security management or equivalent experience critical, with high level technical expertise in the design, delivery and management of Security Systems – preferable in an airport or aviation environment;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management and supervision of staff in a dynamic operational working environment;
• Demonstrated expertise in the development of security procedures in an operational environment;
• Familiarity and understanding of the relevant Acts and Regulations.
• Risk management incident investigation training;
• Superior verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail and strong time management.
