YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We have a truly unique opportunity within our Melbourne Head Office team for an experienced, highly commercial Product Manager to manage the marketing, sales, procurement and operations of Ixom’s Bulk Liquids business.
In the highly competitive chemicals market, Ixom is the leading chemical manufacturer and distributor across Australia. This position plays the critical role of managing essentially the supply and demand of IXOM’s Bulk Liquids business and its impact to our customers. As someone with an intimate knowledge of the Bulk Liquids market and our key competitors, you will collaborate with areas of the business to actively understand our customer requirements while strategically increasing our market share.
Reporting to the Development Manager, this role is critical in establishing and maintaining exceptionally strong partnerships with our VIP customers and continuing to secure long term, sustainable opportunities for the business.
Key accountabilities:
- Sourcing of products from a wide range of suppliers across the Asia region, and managing the shipping and supply of these materials
- Developing and maintaining strong, strategic principal and supplier relationships
- Understand currency movements, cash flow management, commercial trading and commodities across global markets
- Full P&L accountability, delivering financial targets within the business
- Stakeholder management across sales, finance, customer service, supply, manufacturing, warehousing and transport
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification within a technical discipline (engineering, chemistry, science)
- Intimate knowledge of the global Bulk Liquids market (petrochemicals, base oils, solvents etc) is essential
- Prior experience within product management, account management or sales within a commercial environment
- Exceptionally strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to identify and implement opportunities for financial growth
- In depth knowledge of marketing, finance, sales and operations management
- Extensive experience in planning, particularly in S&OP
