Contracts and Procurement Specialist for varied role in mining company - based West Perth

This is a rare opportunity to join a mining company as they expand their interests in the gold mining industry. Currently in a busy phase they were looking for someone to assist them in the contracts and procurement space. In this role you will support the day-to-day contract management and administration and purchasing functions and ensure that they are carried out in accordance with policies, procedures and compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

Your duties will include:

• Management of vendor contracts and effective planning
• Setting up new suppliers and identification of opportunities for cost reduction and value adding supplier agreements
• Maintain and manage procurement statistics
• End-to-end tendering process
• Contractual negotiations and issue resolution
• Development and execution of low to high risk contracts (Goods, Services, Works)
• Focus on business compliance, improvement and best practice.

The company has recently transitioned to SAP so applications from individuals who have experience in the implementation of SAP would be welcome. You will also have full knowledge of the purchase to pay process.

This is a busy team and as such we require someone who is fully versed in all aspects of operational mining contracts not a project environment. The office is based in West Perth so you should be able to travel there easily. Ideally you will be able to start at short notice and be flexible in your availability.
