G. James, Aluminium Products, Eagle Farm, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Extrusion Manager to ensure that best practice methodology is employed to deliver a world class product through a culture of service excellence. This is a senior management role and is part of the Executive team.
Critical to this role will be the efficient organisation of the extrusion and packing operations through effective planning, scheduling and prioritisation of workflow and the leadership and mentoring of direct reports.
The Role:
- Ensures that the plant is run in automatic at all times and initiates follow up and rectification when necessary
- Monitors the external market to stay current with process improvements, providing sound recommendations to provide a competitive edge
- Ensures staffing and supervision levels are maintained to meet production requirements
- Ensures, by being actively involved, that all parts of the business are run safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety requirements
- Leads the adherence to ISO systems and the audit process
The Person:
- Completion of an engineering discipline or trade
- Strong knowledge and background in the extrusion process including dies, plant and post press processes
- Extensive knowledge in automated plant and PLC systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities by demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to setting and planning tasks
- Able to demonstrate leadership and people development success
- Thorough understanding of award and enterprise agreement conditions to effectively manage the workforce
- ERP system knowledge and experience (Wilson / Oracle / Epics) and proficient working knowledge of Office 365.
