About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Manager to oversee a team of up to 2 staff in this brand new distribution centre.
This role will be essential in ensuring we reach our inventory targets of 99.95% accuracy. You will be responsible for working with a dedicated Inventory Controller and the greater warehouse team to implement systems and procedures to ensure we deliver best practice when it comes to inventory control and stock efficiencies for all aspects of this unique warehouse.
Reporting to the DC Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Participating and committing to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times;
- Creating and continuing to improve the pick face based on customer trends and stock movements
- Working with your team and the greater warehouse to implement process improvements to reduce error rates to a 12 month target of 99.95% accuracy
- Implementing ongoing processes and strategies for daily cycle counts, replenishment, receipting and dispatch to ensure we provide the highest level of inventory control
- Oversee and assist the inbound operations with troubleshooting deliveries and purchase orders to ensure Goods Receipt is performed to allow timely putaway of our customer’s product
- Oversee and assist with all aspects of our customers returns process to ensure timely processing of any returns posted through the customer’s system.
- Organizing any quality control/rework required as per customers request.
- Dealing with the customers and upper management to ensure transparency on issues whilst providing suitable control measures and ultimate solutions to any issues identified
- Continuing to develop all aspects of inventory to ensure we deliver an exceptional service to our customer
About you
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- Previous experience managing a team to achieve high targets in Inventory Management
- Ability to demonstrate solid system knowledge in SAP
- Desire to succeed and drive targets and developing strong relationships with staff.
- A proven track record of success within a 3PL environment.
- A hands-on, highly visible leadership style and a willingness to get involved in the daily operation
- Strong communication skills and effective negotiation abilities
- Exceptional relationship management with customers across all levels.
- Experience with providing reports and presentations using Powerpoint and Excel
