Caterpillar of Australia is currently seeking an experienced and energetic Logistics Operations Manager to join our parts distribution facility known as the Queensland Distribution Centre (QDC).
Reporting directly to the Logistics Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects relating to warehouse operations. This includes, but is not limited to responsibility for People, Quality, Productivity, Velocity and Cost. This position will have direct reports including Warehouse Supervisors.
Responsibilities:
• Management of all warehouse day-to day activities
• Manpower, capital and expense budgets
• Monitor & manage key performance criteria ensuring key deliverable targets are achieved
• Develop & execute business strategic plans
• Safety & Environmental compliance
• Employee training, development, mentoring and coaching
• Implementation of the Caterpillar Production System
Required Qualifications:
• Prior experience within a fast paced warehouse/operations environment
• Prior experience working in a Leadership position – mentoring and coaching staff
• Ability to develop & lead successful teams
• Experience in a Continuous Improvement environment/Lean manufacturing environment
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, together with a high level of integrity & honesty
• Strong analytical skills
• MS Office Suite including MS excel, Project and Access
Desired Qualifications:
• Degree qualification in an engineering, logistics or supply chain related discipline
• Project management experience
• SAP warehouse management knowledge (or similar operating platform)
