The Company

Our client is a well-established timber manufacturing business located on the northside of Brisbane. They are currently seeking a Production Manager to join the team. Initially, we will be screening applications prior to passing them on to our client. 

The Position

The core responsibilities of this role relate to the day to day management of the production, people and related activities in the specific area of the factory. These responsibilities encompass:

• Production Management –
  • Formulate and manage a daily production plan to ensure customer’s requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Assist in the quoting of new business
  • Stock control and purchasing
• Transport Management -
  • Organise transport deliveries and routes with internal vehicles
• Staff Management -
  • In consultation with the General Manager implement initiatives to ensure the appropriate recruitment, selection and retention of staff. The development of sound succession planning.
• Relationship Skills -
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with work colleagues and customers at the organisational levels both internally and externally. 

The Successful Applicant will have:

• At least 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or similar with experience in raw material production
• Ability to motivate staff as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Can do attitude
• Proven leadership skills
• Problem solving experience with the ability to implement solutions to drive safety and quality performance.
