Logistics Engineer- Ground Transport  

CEVA Logistics has an opportunity for an experienced Logistics Engineer to join our team based in Truganina.

The Logistics Engineer is seen as a critical role in driving the successful delivery of the various State Business Plans in close alignment with the relevant State Manager.

The role provides direct support to the respective leadership teams in the delivery of service excellence to our customers through impeccable execution whilst delivering budgeted financial returns for the Ground Transport business.

 

Key Responsibilities;

Operational Reengineering

  • Drive efficiencies through process improvement, Operational lay-out redesign, benchmarking, standardisation and best practice
  • Make suggestions to improve processes and the Ground Transport business model

Project Management

  • Implementation of operational improvements and act in capacity as work stream leader for larger scale projects
  • Continuous improvement programs and waste removal through Lean and Kaizen
  • Management reporting of project progress, costs and benefits
  • Financial tracking and reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accruals
  • Improve system driven efficiencies through system enhancements to WMS/TMS, routing and scheduling, mobility and other ICT systems

Solution Design

  • Support operational solution design and cost modelling. 
  • Support the project planning and implementation of new businesses

Network Design and Development

  • Documentation:  Update and maintain processes documentation including communications between CEVA and carrier.
  • Product Development:  Support the definition and documentation the products with the GT network including: Product: Drive the Product definition and understand its use, Place: map where and when this product is available, Promote:  package up the material to promote the use of this product both internally and externally and Price:  ensure the price (and costs) of the product are documented and understood

Lean / Kaizen

  • Contribute analysis to support Cost Savings Initiatives across the Ground Transport network.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering or Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge or understanding of transport performance drivers and cost drivers
  • Demonstrated history of success working with varies audiences within a diverse team
  • Must be a good communicator and able to present at all levels within the organisation
  • Qualification and or experience within Continuous improvement / Lean environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Project management and LEAN methodology awareness
  • Advanced MS Office
  • Strong influencing skills at a senior management level
  • Must have the ability to build strong trusted relationships with Operational Managers to influence change
  • Must be a good communicator and able to present at all levels within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated history of working within a diverse team.
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders (i.e. Key Account Managers and State Transport Managers).
  • Transport Management System (TMS) knowledge (desired)
