the beautiful Macedon Ranges Shire. Hardwick’s Meat Works is a proud family owned & run
multi species red meat processing plant which has been in operation since 1973.
Hardwick’s Meat Works prides itself in servicing premium red meat into the domestic &
exports markets.
The company is well positioned for continual growth and currently has an excellent senior
leadership role on offer for an experienced Distribution Manager.
About the role
The Distribution Manager oversees the end to end functionality of the scheduling, planning
and delivery of meat products to the companies vast distribution network.
To become the successful candidate in this role, you must have a proven demonstrated
working history of a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar distribution role.
The role’s responsibilities include:
* Responsible for managing the companies end to end distribution of meat products.
* Schedule drivers and assign routes to maximize productivity.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement program accordingly.
* Liaise with third party contractors to ensure meat products are delivered on time.
* Ensure all delivery discrepancies are investigated and resolved in atimely manner.
* Resolve problems concerning planning, scheduling & distribution.
* Ensure compliance with company policies or procedures forall distribution services.
* Ensure that all daily pre-operational checks and process monitoring documentation is
completed daily.
* Actively lead and participate in the companies external and internal audits.
* Ensure legislative requirement requirements are adhered to at all times.
* Participate in key stakeholder weekly meetings and provide detailed reports in line with
company requirements.
The Successful Candidate must possess:
* Must have at least 3-5 years of inventory, planning and distribution experience.
* Outstanding analytical thinker who can think on their feet.
* High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and motivate their distribution team.
* Ability to multi task and work under pressure and meet strict time frames.
* Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
* Proven ability to lead and manage effective teams and drive best practise team cultures.
* Possess advanced computer skills.
* Truck and forklift license preferred.
