This role requires an assistant fleet controller for the daily planning and operation of a fleet of 20 + sub-contract owner drivers servicing the local pickup and delivery requirements of Bluestar Global Logistics customers in Brisbane and surrounding areas. It is a key role within Bluestar Brisbane's Team. As such the successful applicant can look forward to a rewarding future with the potential to grow with the business.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the daily allocation of drivers and vehicles to ensure customers' expectations are met or exceeded
- Allocation of driver and vehicle requirements to ensure all compliance aspects are met while at the same time meeting customer's service expectations
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders staff in a professional and timely manner
- Administration of all documentation and paper work in a concise and timely manner
- Organisation and supervision of fleet and personnel
- Providing support, recognition and motivation to individual drivers
- Achieving daily operating efficiency and customer satisfaction targets
Specific competencies required:
- Experience in allocating Bulk Pickup and Delivery work with semi-trailers and rigid vehicles is essential
- Good geographical knowledge of Brisbane metro and surrounding localities
- Demonstrated capability to effectively plan, organise and control deliveries and pick ups
- Strong interpersonal communication skills: ability to manage driver performance
- Effective & efficient allocation of available vehicle capacity
- Demonstrated ability to use PC based fleet allocation software
- Counter balance fork lift experience loading & unloading trucks
