ABOUT YOUR FUTURE POSITION

You will enjoy working as an integral member of the team delivering exceptional customer service and you will appreciate that your contributions in daily huddles are welcomed. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in the diverse tasks assigned to you which include:

  • Repairs to a range of different types of pumps, electric motors and associated equipment
  • Assembly of pump & motors with different types of transmissions on base plates & skids
  • Fabricate metal baseplates & control stands - cutting, welding, grinding, machining,
  • Assembling / fabricating metal and plastic pipework, valves -some welding,
  • Assemble pumping stations including working in confined spaces, fibreglass work,
  • Take deliveries, load trucks
  • Pick & pack orders, make up timber pallets, skids,
  • Keep workshop & warehouse clean & tidy
  • Site work - pump repairs, troubleshooting, installations of pumps and the like,
  • Work could involve working on sewage pumping stations and tradewaste systems, chemical pumps etc
  • Site deliveries

Your previous safety training provides a solid foundation for your safety-first attitude and you are competent and confident to work in a high-risk warehouse environment. Your strong focus and commitment to quality control is aligned to General Pump Company's values and ethics.

ABOUT YOU

You have gained at least three years' experience in a similar role and hold a current LF ticket.

Your experience includes:

  • Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, re-assembling pumps and associated mechanical equipment,
  • Fabricating steel baseplates, measuring, mounting motors and pumps onto base plates, coupling alignment,
  • Spray paint baseplates, pumps, motors,
  • Measuring, cutting, joining PVC pipework. Experience with HDPE pipework an advantage.
  • Assembling valves, pipe fittings, manifolds,
  • Installing guide rail systems, pipework, valves to reinforced fibreglass pumpwells, fibreglass modifications,
  • Site work - pump system troubleshooting, repairs, commissioning,
  • Safe operation of a forklift in a high-risk warehouse environment, 9.0 metre pallet racking, (Ride and Reach preferred), unloading shipping containers using short mast forklift,
  • Use of warehouse equipment such as strapping tools, pallet wrappers
  • Picking and packing orders ready for transport
  • Receiving orders and packing away deliveries in correct locations
  • Not essential, but an advantage - Intermediate computer operations including word | outlook |freight company software | inventory management systems - CIN7 preferred but not essential
  • Stock control and organisation of storage areas
  • Liaising with internal and external customers such as logistics companies and truck drivers
  • "Hands-on" and not afraid of hard work in a fast paced environment
  • Working in a warehouse environment with high standards of housekeeping and safety
  • Timely communication with customers including following up customer deliveries

You will need to be able to demonstrate:
