The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager is a key role and is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the entire production activities of the business.
Critical to the success of the position will be your proven ability to build a safe and sustainable high performance production culture that meets safety, quality and output targets.
Other areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Oversee the production process managing a team of circa 70 people
- Ensure efficient work flow through monitoring the assembly process
- Establish, measure and monitor targets
- Implement, manage and monitor quality control, quality assurance & quality management for best practices
- Implement and drive continuous improvement programs
The Person
You are currently a Production Manager in a manufacturing environment and want to join an organisation that can offer you more breadth and challenge or you are now ready to step up into a leadership role. Ideally, you will have experience within one or more of the following industries. Automotive, automotive component manufacturing, transportation equipment manufacturing, speciality vehicle and machinery manufacturing.
In order to be considered for this position you must possess the following:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a production management position within a manufacturing environment
- Coaching and mentoring leadership style
- Proven ability to problem solve within a production environment
- Successful track record in managing production environments with at least 40 people
- Exposure to LEAN and /or continuous improvement practices and performance data to drive improvement
This is a hands on role as the business operates with a lean structure. You are outcome focused as well as being passionate about safety and people leadership.
