The Opportunity

The Secondary Manufacturing function at CSL Behring is currently recruiting a Packaging Manufacturing Manager to join our dynamic team at our Broadmeadows site.  The Broadmeadows site is currently undergoing significant expansion with a rapid increase in manufacturing volumes to supply our global markets. The newly created role of site Packaging Manufacturing Manager has been created to support the newly formed packaging organisation.  The role has significant leadership and people management responsibilities with direct accountability to oversee the operations of the site packaging activities.

The role also has direct responsibility for the operational delivery of the sites next generation packaging and automation capital programs designed to deliver highly efficient and compliant packaging systems to the CSL Behring Australian business.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director Manufacturing and Operational Excellence your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and promote a safety first culture. Maintain, implement and continually improve Safety Policies and Procedures
• A strong focus on customer service to ensure reliable on time delivery to our customer base.
• Ensuring Operational Excellence is embedded in all packaging manufacturing activities to drive quality and efficiency across all processes.
• Playing a critical leadership and influencing role in the site Manufacturing Leadership Team in developing and delivering operational strategies and goals.
• Leadership and performance management of the packaging operations organisation together with the continued engagement and development of packaging department staff.
• Establishing and managing packaging manufacturing budgets and reporting operational performance on a daily/weekly/monthly basis based on set budgets and KPIs.
• Establish global relationships within the CSL Behring network to drive globally aligned packaging standards and efficiencies.

To be successful

• Tertiary qualification in Science/Engineering or related discipline
• At least 7 years’ experience leading manufacturing and production operations and achieving operational targets.
• A strong grasp and demonstrated ability in the implementation of Operational Excellence & LEAN principles.
• Experience within a pharmaceutical, food, FMCG or similar industry involving management of operational teams.
• Demonstrated ability of leading change
• Understanding of the principles of good manufacturing practice
