Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

Responsible for scheduling a portfolio of raw and packaging materials, in accordance with production plans and ensuring deliveries meet packing deadlines. Contribute to business performance by balancing customer service, inventory levels and supplier costs and delivering innovation within the portfolio of responsibility.

Main Accountabilities

  • Follow company policies, processes and standard operating procedures so work is carried out responsibly, safely and ethically manner.
  • Control materials plan for a portfolio raw and packaging materials. Scheduling of a portfolio of materials in accordance with production plans, ensuring deliveries meet packing deadlines.
  • Balance the requirements of customer service, inventory and supplier costs to delivery agreed targets.
  • React quickly to changes in actual sales, sales forecast and supplier delivery dates.
  • Highlight risks and develop contingencies to ensure production plan and customer service levels are maintained.
  • Coordinate supply chain activities related to new products launch and deletion; identify constraints and highlighting potential risks.
  • Control of material stock levels to within budget targets, ensuring minimal write-offs are managed with minimal waste.
  • Review and challenge, through analysis, ordering assumptions (MOQ, lead-times, inventory levels).
  • Build strong relationships with Factory, Production Planners, Procurement, Warehouse personnel, suppliers and customers. Leverage these relationships to improve the quality and robustness of supply plans and assist in business decisions.
  • Work with factories and key suppliers to resolve operational supply chain issues.
  • Continually search for opportunities to improve reliability and responsiveness of your section of the supply chain.
  • Maintain the data integrity of the material planning systems.
  • Regularly review and maintain stock targets.
  • Purchase miscellaneous items as required selecting reputable suppliers at an effective cost for the business.
  • Score and negotiate DIFOTQ scores with suppliers.
  • Monitor inventories and identify inconsistencies in usage or recorded information. Organise cycle count as required.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly planning meeting and bi-weekly innovations meetings. Provide Supply Chain documentation for IPM.

Key Skills

  • 2-3 years experience in Supply Chain Planning is an advantage
  • Bachelor Degree in all disciplines is an advantage (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Commerce preferred)
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems is also an advantage
  • SAP Experience (BW, ECC)
