Role: QUALITY ASSURANCE Technologist
• Food Manufacturer – Located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
• Maternity Leave 12 month contract position
• Immediate start if successful at Interview stage
• Experience in food manufacturing, HACCP & food safety systems
• Good understanding of food processing technology & a practical aptitude
• MUST have good Communication & Computer skills
• Working Monday to Friday, 10:30am until 6:30pm each day
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and market leaders in food manufacturing. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be directly involved with a progressive and focused team that manufactures fresh foods.
You will assist the team and be responsible for the day to day Quality Assurance Department Activities for the site. You will be responsible for overall Quality on site, being "hands-on" to ensure compliance and maintain HACCP, SQF, CFMSR, Woolworths (WSE), ALDI and other food safety and quality standards. Managing and analyzing customer complaints and design projects to drive through Quality improvements, collecting batch retention samples, Verification and Validation, GMP Audits, checking, compliance, pest control, maintenance of the QA Manual, involvement in internal, external, supplier and other audits and any other troubleshooting would be some of the critical tasks associated with the role. You will spend significant time on the factory floor implementing, educating and training operators and middle managers in order to improve and exceed the quality parameters. The role will see you working cross-functionally with Production, Operations to drive quality performance, design specifications and comply to regulations.

You must have a tertiary qualification in food science, or equivalent and an understanding/experience of food industry is highly essential. An experience in the food industry is desirable and specific experience in managing high care/ risk foods will be of added value. You must also have prior experience in dealing with audits, implementation and maintenance of food safety standards like WQA ,BRC, SQF, HACCP, CFMSR, , ALDI etc.
