Southern Queensland Steel, part of the Southern Steel Group, are a major steel distributor located in Wacol. An excellent opportunity currently exists for an experienced Beamline Machine Operators to join our business.
In this role you are required to load and operate the (already programmed) beamline machine on your own with accuracy and quality of the finished product being entirely your responsibility. You must be a walk up start to operate the Beamline machine and be confident with your machine experience.
This position will be on Day and Afternoon Shift and will work cohesively with the other shift operators and in house Programmers.
Your duties will include:
- Operating overhead crane
- Operating our Beamline machine
- Responsible for cleaning equipment when required
To be successful in this position, you must have the following:
- Experience operating a beamline machine
- Current forklift license
- Experience and confidence operating overhead cranes
- Experience in a steel distribution environment
- Ability to read instructions, basic drawings and order forms
