Electromold specializes in specialty surface coatings and is currently seeking the services of a full time Quality Inspector to work within our afternoon Quality Team to assist with in-process and final inspections.

Electromold boasts a proud and successful history since commencing in 1988 and is rapidly growing supporting the Aerospace and Defence industry. Operating in a purpose-built factory located in Melbourne, the suburb of Thomastown, Electromold has obtained quality approvals under the guidelines of Nadcap and ISO9001. In addition, we also hold D1-4426 Boeing and Lockheed Martin QCS-001 accreditations; this enables Electromold to perform some of the most complex Aerospace and Defence surface finishing in the Southern Hemisphere.

This is a great entry level position for someone that has a passion for quality assurance and to grow their career in a very complex quality system.  This position is crucial in the day to day delivery of product inspection and controlling our calibration system, time management will be an essential asset for this position.

Working in a plating environment will require OH&S awareness safeguarding our valued staff members, community and the environment. You will be required to work in accordance with work place practices and promote our company Safety Policies.

The positions key responsibility areas include:

• Validate job compliance through visual and physical testing ensuring  work meets customer requirements
• Read and understand job cards, engineering drawings and specifications
• Operate specific inspection equipment including Vernier's and Micrometres
• Assist with the management of our intranet equipment calibration system
• Promote Safety Awareness
• Be familiar with Lean and 5S Manufacturing principles.

The position requires the candidate to have the following skills / experience:

• An understanding of AS/NZS9001 and Quality Standards.        
• Engineering or Technical Trade qualifications would be desirable.
• Minimum 5 Years Experience conducting quality control on coatings
• Able to read and Interpret Engineering Drawings
• Excellent time management skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Self motivated, enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work proactively and unsupervised when required
• Think on your feet and ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent computer and documentation skills
• Great Communication skills essential, from senior management to shop floor personnel
• Work well within a close team environment.
• Dedication to customer satisfaction
