Position One

Our client has a vast global network with an international profile built on quality, service and reliability. This is highly successful business driven by a passionate and professional team who have a common focus on delivering the best possible product with an optimum level of service.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a high performing and driven Business Development Manager with a strong sales background to focus on new business acquisition in the Brisbane market. Opportunity to launch the next important stage of growth in the Queensland market to support existing business, whilst continuing to build strong market presence.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the primary responsibility of this role will be to identify new opportunities for prospective and existing clients and using innovative techniques to maintain a strong sales pipeline.

Duties will include:

  • Formulating strategies and establishing plans to identify and gain profitable new business opportunities and sustaining new business into the future.
  • Sales calls to new clients, prompt and efficient response to new client requests.
  • Offer a consultative service to potential and existing clients regarding their freight requirements. Design and implement tailored solutions specific to client’s needs.
  • Interface with the operations team to implement the awarded work efficiently.
  • Provide weekly sales reports and other analysis as required.
  • Engage in networking and profile building.
  • Ensuring optimal level of service to clients at all times.

You will be an experienced BDM in Freight Forwarding sales, ideally with exposure to the Brisbane market.  Drawing on your industry knowledge, market contacts and established reputation in this sector, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current clients, and working toward building business with new ones. 

Position Two

For over 30 years our client, a small to medium sized freight forwarder, has provided customised market leading services within freight and logistics, customs clearance, supply chain, warehousing, distribution and consulting. With a well-established overseas network and a team of dedicated professionals they have gained a reputation as one of the best in their specialised field.

Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a high performing and driven Business Development Manager to focus on new business acquisition across the Brisbane market.

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Qualifying, visiting, establishing relationship and securing new business, further strengthening existing relationships.
  • Offer a consultative service to potential and existing clients regarding their freight requirements. Design and implement tailored solutions for specific client requirements.
  • Rate negotiations, Issue quotations and follow up on proposals submitted.
  • Interface with the operations team to implement the awarded work efficiently and maintain ongoing account management for your clients.
  • Working in line with budgets & KPI's. Providing regular sales reports to senior management.

You will have excellent communication /negotiation skills, a solid understanding of the Brisbane market and a proven track record in Freight Forwarding Business Development. You will also have the ability to network and build strong relationships and to quickly become familiar with the company’s service offering in order to translate client’s requirements into best solutions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and a passion for achieving results are also essential to your success.
