Our client is a reputable and well established Australian business, who produces a host of award winning products within the Australian market. They pride themselves on quality, innovation and speed to market, and are currently looking for a Plant Manager to drive these initiatives across the team. This is a very critical role and will have full site responsibility.

Description

Our Client is looking for a leader who has a passion for results and driving quality production in a high risk environment. You will be committed to Operational Excellence and driving transformation through LEAN manufacturing. This role will have a specific focus around people leadership, costs, quality, delivery, & OHS processes. The key responsibilities will be :

  • Lead and manage a specialist team across multiple production lines towards key objectives and monitored targets.
  • Improve team's efficiency through the development of solutions to improve productivity and drive a strong performance culture.
  • Determination of manufacturing process capabilities & identifying line constraints.
  • Identify and implement a manufacturing continuous improvement plan across the operations, through the delivery of effective change management and lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a capital plan associated with increased line capacity to ensure there is increased operational input into capital projects.
  • Ensuring the manufacture of key business products are within specification & in line with customers expectations.
  • Meeting operational planning schedules to ensure service levels and distribution targets are achieved.
  • Preparation of budgets and P & L to deliver annual operational plans while meeting the business cost targets.

Profile

You will have extensive experience in a similar management role within a high risk food manufacturing environment. You must also have a strong understanding of continuous improvement programmes such as Lean or Six Sigma within a food, beverage or related industry.

  • Proven Leadership Capability in a related industry (food, dairy or beverage)
  • Strong problem solving abilities, the judgement to chose the right solution combined with decisiveness to act quickly
  • Strong management control systems that ensure execution achieves all of the organisation’s goals
  • High levels of initiative to ensure that the operations group as a team are responsive
