A newly created position exists for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join the Team in Maddington, Perth WA for a 12 months contract with review for future work.  Reporting to the Country Manager based in Qld, your role will focus on current purchasing & improve where possible, while providing support to site/line managers & personnel in all depts.

Essential selection criteria’s:

  • Minimum 3 yrs experience in purchasing within the construction, mining & heavy lifting transport sector
  • Excellent knowledge of contracts and purchasing with in-house order creation and planning
  • Negotiate transport, shipping, customs of Sarens equipment
  • Achieve cost savings across multiple purchasing categories
  • Management of company inventory
  • Investigation and resolution of discrepancies
  • Manage & re-negotiate preferred suppliers
  • Coordinate the regular quality evaluation of suppliers together with the QEHS dept
  • Strong computer skills inclusive of MS Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent negotiation, organisational and time management skills
  • Current open car licence – valid at all times

Desirable

  • Exposure to the crane industry
  • Previous experience working with projects -advantageous
