Physically fit, experienced heavy production workers required for foundry work in Wingfield. Potential for work on both day and night shifts- the successful candidate must be willing to work 4 x12 hour shifts a week. The environment is hot, successful candidates must have proven, recent experience in a similar industrial environment.
Successful candidates will work as part of a team, pouring moulten iron into moulds/casts using overhead cranes and ladles. The temperatures of the metals are between 1400 degrees and 1500 degrees Celsius and some heavy lifting is required.
Candidates are required to work 12 hour shifts (day or night)
Though job rotation you could potentially be doing any one of these tasks on the day;
- Operating the crane carrying molten metal between furnace decks. Operating hand held controller to situate tundish
- Using arms to turn wheel (like a steering wheel) on tundish to tip out contents
- Checking temperatures of metals using long handled scoops, working in close proximity of extreme temperatures
- Using a scoop to remove the slag from tops of molten metal
- Pattern changing using trolleys and lifting patterns
- Operate Magnet crane
- Adhere to training and safe operating procedures
