Our client is a manufacturer of quality furniture used within the aged care and hospitality industries. Due to continued growth, they are after experienced Upholsterers to join their team based in the Penrith area. The role is Monday to Thursday 6:30 to 15:00 and Fridays 6:30 to 12:30. This role will begin on a fulltime casual basis with permanency offered to the right candidate after 3 months.
Primary Duties:
- Design upholstery covers and patterns based on sketches, blue prints and customer descriptions
- Liase with Purchasing Department regarding fabrics, colours and styles
- Operate sewing machines
- Fault Finding
- Measure and cut materials to size
- Restore and create custom upholstered furniture using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics
Essential Criteria:
- Have experience in Upholstery (minimum 5 years)
- Have experience in using hand tools
- Be able to read blueprints/ diagrams
- Have reliable transport
