Client Details

Our valued client has been providing high quality Electroplating and Electropolishing services since 1951. It is a jobbing shop and processes around 5 million components for its trade customers annually. The business moved to its current premises in Silverwater in the early 1970’s. With 35 employees, the business remains small and very focused on quality and its customers. It has enjoyed significant growth in the past few years and now needs a General Manager to take over from the owner, who has only been involved on a part time basis. The GM role has been created to allow the business to continue on its growth path.

Description

This will be a very hands-on role and as General Manager, you will evaluate ways to maintain growth and boost efficiency, oversee and prioritise the complex processing of customers’ products, be responsible for HR, participate in the company’s marketing efforts and assist with achieving sales goals. You will work closely with the Finance Director, Plating Manager and Technical Manager to quote complex jobs, evaluate Capex opportunities and communicate with customers and production staff on the shop floor, to ensure customer’s needs are met. There will be a WHS focus attached to this role.

Profile

The ideal person for this position would have experience in a similar role be computer literate, have good commercial acumen, be able to relate to people from all walks of life, be customer centric and come from an engineering background or the metal finishing/spray-painting/powder coating industries.
