 Operations Supervisor- Cross Dock Truganina

CEVA Logistics has an opportunity for an experienced, driven and demonstrated Operations Supervisor to work at our facility based in Truganina

This purpose of this role is to drive excellence within the operation by providing leadership to the warehouse team.  Maintain and exceed customer service, HS&E, quality and KPI standards and contribute to continuous improvement programmes using lean principles.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Plan with team leaders- resource levels, activity definition, process scope and quality supervise the successful warehouse operation relating to the site contracts.
  • Undertake all operational activity within the agreed scope of services in a productive, safe and efficient manner, achieve operational KPI’s with regular reviews of performance and weekly/monthly reports and driving actions from audits
  • Provide excellence in customer service, develop sound working relationships with the customer, and drive timely and efficient customer service.  Act as focal point for supervising exceptions to acceptable service standards, implementing practical solutions and ensuring long term behavioural standards
  • Ensure firm control of the contract P&L – understand the levers to drive cost from the contract, educate team members in driving cost optimization, review weekly the P&L and profitability in conjunction with Operations Manager
  • Proactively demonstrate sound OHS leadership skills – ensure timely follow up (and MYOSH entry) to incidents/investigations, undertake risk assessments, take employees to the doctor to ensure timely return to work in the instance of an accident, conduct toolbox sessions on HSE site rules/policies, ensure team members are complying with SWP’s
  • Lead the Lean operational culture and drive Lean initiatives with the teams to drive operational efficiencies
  • Provide leadership to the warehouse team, - walk the floor and be present to support team members, provide consistent and clear communication standards,  setting standards of high performance, managing counselling and discipline issues at first level, driving efficient multiskilling and succession plans

Knowledge, Skills and Experience;

  • Warehouse and Transport prior experience
  • Experience in managing 3PL contracts
  • Experience in leading teams – including counselling/discipline
  • Knowledge of best practice warehouse techniques
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
  • Experience in managing teams in a warehouse/transport environment (including industrial experience)
  • Exhibited a working knowledge of managing a site P&L – commercial acumen
  • Sound Excel skills/analytical abilities
  • Ability to make sound decisions and enhanced problem solving ability
  • Strong network/ collaboration skills
  • Sound constructive leadership skills
  • Strong level of initiative and drive for results
  • Passionate about provision of customer service excellence
  • Excellent at building effective working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills demonstrating the ability to prioritize
