The Position


Reporting to the Supply chain Manager, the Procurement Officer will play a key role within the business and Supply Chain Department. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing international shipments, raising purchase orders and maintaining inventory levels to service the needs of our customers, whilst simultaneously achieving the objectives for inventory and warehouse efficiencies.

The Key KPI's for this position are as follows:

• Issue and manage purchase orders in accordance with customer needs.

• Setup and manage Assembly Orders (requires technical expertise).

• Assist in managing and following up overseas orders with our agent in China.

• Ensuring the highest quality of purchasing duties and subsequent administrative work.

• Forecast inventory levels of materials and products focused towards reducing stock levels.

• Coordinate with the sales department and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work especially for big projects.

• Arrange and co-ordinate (international) shipments to ensure the goods arrive on time, at the best possible price.

• Handling and monitoring of claims to factories and vendors for defectives, shortage, missing parts.

• Support all relevant departments with quotations/lead-times for the purpose of tenders.

• Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.

• First class communication skills with a professional telephone manner and ability to ensure that all parties are immediately advised of relevant information.
• Be hands-on and contribute to the team's productivity.


Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with suppliers/clients
  • Strong Analytical and organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Engineering background will be highly regarded
  • Advanced computer and MS-Excel skills are required

The role is paramount in coordinating relevant parties in achieving the best outcomes for all stakeholders.
