Reporting to the General Manager of Automotive and supporting the National HSE Manager in developing and implementing approved health safety and environment programs, as well as advising management on occupational health, safety and environment issues.

Key accountabilities include:

• Embedding a practical and workable safety culture throughout the Automotive Division
• Advising and coaching managers, and other key safety employees, on all matters relating to safety, occupational health and environment.
• Contribution to and execution of the approved HSE Business Plan.
• Developing and promoting safety awareness programs to encourage improved safety awareness throughout the organisation.
• Creating, evaluating and administering the safety program to include the development and presentation of training programs for management and employees. Monitoring the progress and success of safety initiatives.
• Conducting surveys, audits and investigations on safety related issues.
• Maintain an extensive knowledge of applicable safety rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies.

Requirements

• Qualifications in OH&S;
• 5+ Years HSE experience preferably in warehousing and distribution or related industries
• Knowledge and application of HSE legislation and key customer safety guidelines;
• First aid certificate and accredited rehabilitation coordinator qualification;
• Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills;
• High level of computer literacy;
• Exceptional attention to detail;
• A collaborative pro-active approach with the ability to solve problems; and
• Drive and commitment to succeed in a challenging role.
