As a leader of the procurement team you will be responsible for the sourcing of biggest spend categories within the business. You will need to be strategic and cost focused, whilst never compromising on quality of materials. This role works closely with supply chain, purchasing, product planning and inventory. Your knowledge of procuring raw materials within pharma, FMCG or supplements industries will enhance your ability to lead this this procurement team confidently.

The organisation
Pharmaceutical organisation specialising in the production of vitamins, minerals, supplements and medicines. This is a growing industry space with Australian products regarded as some of the best in the world due to materials available and quality control procedures. This organisation is a prominent and well regarded industry specialist and continues to manufacture some of the most premium products available in the market.
The role
Working as a leader of the procurement team you will be responsible for the sourcing of the biggest spend categories within the business. You will need to be strategic and cost focused, whilst never compromising on quality of materials. This role works closely with supply chain, purchasing, product planning and inventory. Your knowledge of procuring raw materials within the pharmaceutical, neutraceuticals or supplements industry will enhance your ability to lead this this procurement team confidently.
Key responsibilities
- End to end procurement. Sourcing materials, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, assessment and contract implementation
- Developing supplier KPIs and monitoring supplier contract agreements
- Management of supplier relationships
- Materials Requirement Planning, working closely with inventory to ensure material availability and waste reduction
- Identify and implement risk management strategies
- Leading a team of experienced procurement specialists
- Working closely with QA team to ensure quality standards of materials purchased
- Developing strong partnerships with internal stakeholders
Experience required
- Extensive procurement experience, ideally in a high SKU manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Advanced level of management reporting, including forecasting, planning, deliveries and customer service
- Ideally be tertiary qualified with experience within a manufacturing environment such as pharmaceuticals, food or FMCG. Tertiary qualification in Business, Management or other Supply Chain related discipline
