We are seeking an experienced, passionate and energetic Fleet controller for an exciting opportunity in Clayton, VIC, reporting to the Operations Manager. As a Fleet Allocator you are responsible for the day to day management of Visy Logistics company drivers and subcontractors. Your role is to ensure that all transport requests are actioned whilst delivering an exceptional level of customer service and relationship management. This is a busy role with working hours of up to 10 hours on some days Monday – Friday and possibly some calls to be taken on Saturdays and Sundays too. The ability to meet deadlines and time mange efficiently is imperative.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operational scheduling – ensuring all customer requests are planned and assigned to appropriate carriers
- Process and system management – maximise process performance and efficiencies; managing system alerts, reviewing rates and optimising requests for maximum efficiency and lowest cost
- Relationship management – professional approach at all times when dealing with carriers, customers and internal teams
- Compliance with legislative requirements – have an understanding of fatigue management laws to ensure demands comply with current Chain of Responsibility laws
The successful candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate a high level of operational experience – previous logistics industry experience highly regarded
- Proactively engage with key stakeholders – you must have a genuine desire to assist and support customers and team members
- Use Microsoft Office and Google products proficiently – an understanding of SAP and related applications is desirable
- Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail
- Show a sound knowledge of administrative systems and procedures, with a desire for process improvement
