My Client is a leading supplier of value-added, technology-based products and services for freight rail, passenger transit and select industrial markets worldwide.
 
They have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join their Sydney team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing engineering services to Project Managers, Sales Managers, and support to Production.

The Role
 

• Solve technical problems
• Undertake engineering development work, to meet new applications, improve performance and develop new prototypes
• Provide Engineering support to internal and external customers
• Prepare  technical reports
• Assist in the preparation of drawings, manuals and tender documents
• Monitor the quality of our products and services and report any issues to the Quality Department
• Liaise with customers and other stakeholders to discuss technical issues and participate in design reviews
• Identify root cause of technical issues with products and systems and implement corrective actions

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
 
Essential Criteria
 

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering – recognised by Engineers Australia
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Rail, Automotive, Aerospace, General Machinery Design
• Excellent problem solving skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proven ability to identify, investigate and address issues practically and effectively
• Experienced in engineering design, able to meet defined requirements within deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Capable of multi-tasking and adhering to tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experienced in utilising CAD software in engineering design and development, preferably SolidWorks
