About the role
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring and assisting Linfox operates under Commonwealth and State Legislation in addition with Local Government requirements and by-laws. The Compliance Officer must also ensure that the business operates to industry standards and any applicable accreditation requirements.
The Compliance Officer must also ensure site-specific standards; policies and procedures in relation to Transport Regulatory Compliance are followed. This is achieved by coaching, influencing and mentoring Site Management Teams to demonstrate effective compliance leadership.
Reporting to the Regional Compliance Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Participating and committing to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times;
- Assist in establishing effective and measurable objectives, targets & KPIs for Business Unit as part of the internal performance evaluation process in line with the Linfox Corporate Compliance Management System.
- In consultation with Site Management, assist in the development of action plans that address identified key risks associated with the area of management responsibility.
- Promote awareness of Transport Regulatory & Accreditation compliance.
- Assist in the coordination of annual Compliance Management programs including internal and external compliance audits utilising Compliance Checkpoint.
- Contribute to the provision of a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring site plans, procedures and process changes incorporate the requirements of all Linfox compliance policies and procedures.
- Investigate incidents to find route cause and contributing factors using Incident Cause Analysis Methodology (ICAM).
- Assist in maintaining accreditation through coordination internal and external auditing program to ensure compliance.
- Assist in ensuring the Business is kept up to date with changes in Legislation and requirements through coaching and presentations.
About you
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- Knowledge of on road legal compliance for heavy vehicles including areas of NHVAS, fatigue management, mass management, load restraint procedures and chain of responsibility(COR);
- Experience managing breaches and non-conformance issues;
- Experience in auditing (eg ISO Standards) and quality assurance;
- Exposure to compliance systems in a Transport or Logistics and Supply Chain Industry;
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to achieve outcomes.
