Job description:
We now have an Inside Sales Representative vacancy in the APL Commercial team in Sydney. Reporting to the NSW Sales Manager, this position is responsible for:
• Assessing competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities
• Developing sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
• Working with the Sales Manager for the effective implementation of services offered to clients nationally that will achieve predetermined targets and budgets for import and export Sales in relation to APL.
• In conjunction with the State Sales Manager, undertaking a proactive role in the development of sales strategies specifically looking at bringing on new clients and increasing coverage within existing client base.
To be successful in this role, you MUST have –
• Australian citizenship/permanent residence.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in shipping industry within customer service/sales.
• Strong sales technique with the ability to build rapport.
• Strong telephone manner with the ability to have an engaging conversation.
• Listening skills & development of strategies to meet clients expectations
• Ability to be accountable and see tasks through to completion.
• Highly motivated and self driven to achieve predetermined KPIs.
• Customer orientated approach.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and in a pressurized environment.
• Able to work within team environment or autonomously.
