An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Logistics Manager to join a respected brand, as part of a broader expansion by this business. You will be responsible for hands on management of the customer facing logistics and administration team with day to day involvement in managing the supply chain process end to end. You will also have oversight of all negotiations regarding freight, storage and related services to ensure that this role is truly a commercial focused position.
Your additional duties will include:
- Ensuring adequate freight resources are cost effective and in place to deliver finished goods to customers
- Ensure transparency in planning process and logistics execution
- Plan, coordinate and execute domestic, Import and Export contracts for all produced and traded products
- Plan warehousing and distribution programs to meet current and future needs including stock management and fumigation programs
- Lead and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will have worked in a previous role that developed a strong understanding of inland road freight and containerised import/export. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent negotiation skills. You will be a positive people leader, with a customer centric approach, and enjoy dealing with multiple levels of stakeholders. An experience working with bulk dry products would be an advantage.
