About Our Client

Our client is a privately owned metal processing company which provides cutting, forming, bending and rolling services to fabricators, project managers and contractors. Our client endeavours to exceed customer expectations in providing such services.

About the Role

This position is based in Milperra and the successful candidate’s main objective will be to Operate Round Plate & Section Rolls. Your daily duties will consist of the following: 

• Read basic drawings and work instructions.
• Handle materials from plasma/guillotine/laser work stations to rolls.
• Mark out measurements from drawings and check dimensions of given material.
• Check material specifications on every job issued.
• Operate travelling jib cranes and overhead cranes.
• Organise work around rolling equipment and follow sequence of work orders.
• Daily inspection of equipment for oil leaks and mechanical faults on equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the work area.
• Check each completed job and sign off the inspection report.
• Conduct all duties in accordance with the Safe Operating Procedures issued to ensure quality maintained.

All employees shall undertake hazard identification as part of their normal duties, and report any unsafe conditions or work practices. Essential Criteria 

• Understanding basic plate and section rolling process
• Understanding Basic calculations, formulas and Workshop Drawings 
• Previous Metal Industry Knowledge
• Experience in handling materials and using machinery
